19 Sep @ 3:30 pm – 4:30 pmTitle: Fluid Limit for a Multi-server Multiclass Random Order of Service Queue with General Distributions
Abstract: In this talk, we consider a multi-server multiclass queue with reneging operating under the random order of service discipline. This can also be thought of as a stochastic chemical reaction system arising as a model for enzymatic processing in a cell. Stochastic primitives for the model such as production/interarrival times, processing/service times, and lifetimes are assumed to be generally distributed. We establish a fluid limit for a measure-valued process that keeps track of the remaining lifetime for each entity in the system. We prove uniqueness for fluid model solutions under mild conditions and study the asymptotic behavior of fluid model solutions as time goes to infinity.
